Job summary

Clear Thinking Mental Health Group in Ballarat, VIC is seeking a Psychologist or Probationary Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team. This role offers flexible hours (full-time or part-time) and supervision for probationary psychologists, with a focus on evidence-based practice and meaningful client outcomes.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans and deliver therapies such as CBT and ACT, while maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with psychiatrists,

• Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist or eligibility for Probationary Psychologist.
• Bachelor degree in Psychology; Masters advantageous.

Job description

Clear Thinking Mental Health Group is seeking a Psychologist or Probationary Psychologist to join our team in Ballarat, VIC. This can be a full-time or part time position that offers a meaningful opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of individuals and families within our community. As a Psychologist or Probationary Psychologist, you will deliver evidence-based psychological services, contributing to our mission of providing accessible, high-quality mental health support. This role is integral to our service delivery and allows you to develop your clinical expertise whilst working collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment. Supervision is available for probationary psychologists and peer group supervision is available to all psychologists. We are looking for people who are looking to settle into a role and enjoy being part of a great team environment over the longer term.

What you'll be doing depending on skill level and expertise.

• Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients across diverse presentations and age groups
• Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic interventions
• Delivering a range of psychological therapies, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and other contemporary approaches
• Maintaining detailed clinical documentation and case notes in accordance with professional standards and organisational requirements
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, counsellors, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care
• Participating in clinical supervision and peer consultation activities to support professional development and clinical excellence
• Contributing to outcome measurement and evaluation of psychological interventions to inform service improvement
• Supporting clients and families with empathy, professionalism and clinical competence
• Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and adhering to ethical guidelines and confidentiality requirements

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or eligibility for registration as a Probationary Psychologist in Australia
• A qualification in Psychology (Bachelor degree minimum; Master's or postgraduate qualifications in clinical, counselling or health psychology are advantageous)
• Knowledge of evidence-based psychological interventions and therapeutic approaches
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills with the ability to formulate presentations
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team members
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development, reflective practice and adherence to the Australian Psychological Society Code of Ethics
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentStrong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage a varied caseload
• Sensitivity to the needs of diverse populations and a commitment to culturally responsive practice
• Previous experience in mental health service delivery is desirable but not essential, particularly in community-based or public health settings
