Job summary

Thales Australia is establishing a new team of Protective Security Officers across our key sites reporting directly to our National Security Managers. These are newly created, in-house roles, with successful applicants joining Thales directly as employees and becoming a critical part of our protective security workforce.

Qualifications

• Experience in security, Defence, law enforcement, emergency services or a similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of security, risk management and site safety practices.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Able to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in incident response, access control and visitor management is highly regarded.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a relevant State or Territory Security Licence applicable to the role.

These are newly created, in-house roles, with successful applicants joining Thales directly as employees and becoming a critical part of our protective security workforce.

YOUR ROLE

• Maintain a visible security presence through patrols, site checks and security assurance activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies quickly and professionally.
• Manage site access, visitor coordination and contractor approvals.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY

A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.

In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role.
