These are newly created, in-house roles, with successful applicants joining Thales directly as employees and becoming a critical part of our protective security workforce. As a Protective Security Officer, you will form part of the first line of defence for some of Australia's most important Defence, aerospace and critical infrastructure facilities. You will play a vital role in protecting our people, assets, information and operations through a combination of security operations, customer engagement, incident response and site assurance activities. This is a highly visible role requiring professionalism, sound judgement, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic operational environments. **YOUR ROLE*** Maintain a visible security presence through patrols, site checks and security assurance activities.* Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies quickly and professionally.* Manage site access, visitor coordination and contractor approvals.* Support security compliance, reporting and risk management activities.* Build strong relationships with employees, visitors and stakeholders while promoting a positive security culture. **YOUR EXPERIENCE*** Experience in security, Defence, law enforcement, emergency services or a similar operational environment.* Strong knowledge of security, risk management and site safety practices.* Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.* Able to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.* Experience in incident response, access control and visitor management is highly regarded.* Eligibility to obtain and maintain a relevant State or Territory Security Licence applicable to the role. **AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY**A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
