Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking a commercially minded Property Development Coordinator to lead Council’s Property Development team and drive a strategic, value-focused portfolio across acquisitions, divestments and redevelopment opportunities.

You will oversee the full development cycle, manage budgets, engage stakeholders and build a high-performing team culture, balancing commercial outcomes with community objectives while navigating local government requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in property or related discipline and leading a team of specialists.
• Extensive experience in development feasibility studies and land subdivision coordination.
• Knowledge of statutory provisions for land dealings and local government property administration.
• Experience in managing and motivating teams and fostering experimentation.
• Strong presentation skills with experience presenting to diverse audiences.
• Proven project management and leadership of project teams.
• Experience acquiring land/land interests under Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
• Holder of a current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Property Development team and drive strategic, commercial portfolio management.
• Identify and progress acquisition, divestment and redevelopment opportunities.
• Coordinate projects through full development cycle from site selection to sale.
• Manage budgets, consultants, and contractors; drive continuous improvement and service excellence.
