Job summary

RMS Engineering and Construction seeks an experienced Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to take ownership of civil projects in North Queensland. You will work with Project Managers and site teams to deliver safely, efficiently and commercially, while developing leadership capabilities.

You will coordinate site personnel and subcontractors, interpret plans, and manage variations and costs within a supportive, growth-focused team environment. North Queensland lifestyle awaits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years civil construction experience.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Experience coordinating site personnel, subcontractors, labour and materials.
• Understanding project delivery, quality, safety and environmental requirements.
• Experience interpreting plans, specifications and construction methodologies.
• Ability to manage variations, quantities, costs and project documentation.
• Experience developing and maintaining construction programs.
• Strong stakeholder and client communication skills.
• Interest in developing leadership and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

You will work closely with our Project Managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, commercially and to a high standard.

The role will provide you with the opportunity to take ownership of key project responsibilities while developing your leadership capability and influencing project outcomes.

About You

We are looking for engineers who are technically capable, commercially aware and confident working autonomously within a project environment.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• 5+ years' civil construction experience
• Strong technical and communication skills
• The ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision
• Experience coordinating site personnel, subcontractors, labour and materials
• Strong understanding of project delivery, quality, safety and environmental requirements
• Experience interpreting plans, specifications and construction methodologies
• The ability to manage variations, quantities, costs and project documentation
• Experience developing and maintaining construction programs
• Strong stakeholder and client communication skills
• A genuine interest in developing your leadership and project management capabilities
• Experience working on TMR specifications is highly desirable, but not essential. We will consider your overall experience and capability when assessing applications.
• Previous experience with Civil Pro is highly advantageous.
