ASC is Australia’s Submarine Company and is seeking a Project Scheduler to support our Program in Osborne, SA or Henderson, WA. Reporting to the Principal Scheduler, you will provide technical scheduling support to project managers for successful program execution.

The role is permanent full-time with responsibilities to review, plan, schedule, monitor and adjust submarine maintenance activities and liaise with stakeholders across defence projects. Eligibility for clearances is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years scheduling and project planning or controls in a complex project environment.
• Defence, shipbuilding and/or heavy engineering experience preferred.
• Proficient in Primavera (or similar scheduling software).
• Excel skills and ability to work with large data environments.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management.
• Power BI proficiency desirable.
• Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and solve scheduling costs problems.

Responsibilities

• Review, plan and schedule submarine maintenance activities.
• Document the sequence of works, relationships, durations and resource requirements.
• Develop project schedules including identifying and verifying the critical path.
• Monitor and control activities through planning and execution.
• Update activity information and status from diverse sources.
• Re-schedule activities in consultation with stakeholders.
• Communicate trends to the Project Manager and Project Team.
• Detailed schedule analysis for stakeholders.

ASC is Australia’s Submarine Company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension (LOTE) to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity available for experienced and passionate individual to join ASC as a Project Scheduler to support our Program. Reporting to the Principal Scheduler, your responsibilities will include providing technical support & advice to project managers in areas of project scheduling to support successful execution of the Program.

This role is a Permanent full-time opportunity based in Osborne, SA or Henderson, WA.

Responsibilities

Working in an experienced team of project delivery professionals, responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following:

• Review, plan and schedule whole submarine maintenance activities.
• Understand and document the sequence of works, relationships, durations and resource requirements.
• Develop project schedules including the identification and verification of critical path.
• Monitor and control all activities through the planning and execution of activities.
• Update activity information and status based on information from various sources.
• Re-scheduling of activities in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
• Communication of trends to the Project Manager and Project Team.
• Detailed schedule analysis for relevant stakeholders.

About you

Minimum 3 years’ demonstrated scheduling and project planning or controls experience within a complex project environment, preferably in Defence, Shipbuilding and/or heavy engineering industries together with:

• Demonstrated experience in scheduling using Primavera (or similar scheduling software)
• Proficient Microsoft excel user and ability to work and thrive in a complex data environment.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management within a Program / Project environment.
• Proficiency in Power BI will be highly desirable.
• Ability to self-motivate whilst collaborating with various internal Stakeholders.
• Proven analytical problem-solving skills relating to costs and scheduling performance and reporting.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
