Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major Finance Transformation program on a 12-month contract in Sydney. The role focuses on governance, reporting, stakeholder management and providing structure to complex programs rather than hands-on delivery.

You'll work with the Head of Finance Transformation and senior stakeholders, establishing operating rhythms, maintaining RAID, dependencies and milestones, and delivering clear progress updates to governance forums.

Qualifications

• Proven Project Management experience within banking or financial services.
• Strong governance, reporting and delivery oversight.
• Experience managing RAID, dependencies, milestones, risks and project health.
• Excellent executive reporting and written/verbal communication skills.
• Experience across technology, finance, regulatory or transformation programs.
• This is not a pure PMO coordination role.

A leading financial services organisation is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a significant Finance Transformation program on a 12-month contract.

This is a great opportunity for a Project Manager who understands complex technology and transformation delivery but whose strengths are particularly around project governance, reporting, stakeholder management and bringing structure to complex programs.

This isn't a traditional hands-on delivery role. You'll work across a number of projects and workstreams, providing the governance, oversight and reporting needed to give senior stakeholders a clear view of progress, risks, dependencies and issues.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with the Head of Finance Transformation and senior stakeholders, you'll help establish and maintain a strong operating rhythm across the program.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Owning project and program governance across multiple workstreams
• Preparing clear and concise reporting for senior stakeholders and governance forums
• Maintaining RAID, dependencies, milestones, risks and issues
• Bringing together information from delivery teams to provide a clear view of overall program health
• Coordinating governance forums, including agendas, actions, decisions and follow-up
• Tracking key deliverables, milestones and dependencies across projects
• Identifying emerging risks, gaps and issues and ensuring they are appropriately addressed
• Working across Finance, Technology and business stakeholders to maintain alignment
• Supporting planning, prioritisation and delivery oversight
• Ensuring projects operate within agreed governance and delivery frameworks
• Providing senior stakeholders with the information and insight required to make timely decisions

About you

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with strong governance and PMO capability.

You'll ideally bring:

• Proven Project Management experience within banking or financial services
• Strong experience across project governance, reporting and delivery oversight
• The confidence to work with senior stakeholders and challenge where required
• Experience managing RAID, dependencies, milestones, risks and project health
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly executive reporting
• Experience working across technology, finance, regulatory or transformation programs
• A genuine understanding of project delivery - this is not a pure PMO coordination role

Experience across finance transformation, regulatory change or data-intensive programs would be highly relevant.

You'll be joining a significant transformation program with exposure to senior stakeholders across Finance and Technology. It's an opportunity to use your project management experience in a role where strong governance, visibility and delivery discipline are critical, with the focus on providing oversight and structure across the program rather than managing the day-to-day delivery of technical teams.
