Job summary

UGL Transport is delivering critical rail infrastructure upgrades in NSW. As Project Manager you will lead across Sydney CBD and Sydenham Maintenance Centre, coordinating engineering, operations and delivery teams to ensure safe, on-time, within-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects across the full lifecycle.
  • Experience delivering projects within rail, transport, infrastructure, construction, defence or other safety-critical environments.
  • Strong contract administration and subcontractor management experience.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, forecasting and cost control.
  • Experience in project controls, scheduling and risk management.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience using scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project or similar.
  • A Project Management qualification (Certificate IV, Diploma, Degree or equivalent).
  • The ability and willingness to work across both office and operational site environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scope, schedule, budget and risk management activities.
  • Coordinate design development through to Approved for Construction (AFC) status.
  • Manage subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to achieve project outcomes.

  • Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Support procurement activities, tender evaluations and supplier engagement.
  • Conduct regular site visits to oversee project progress, manage risks and support delivery teams.
  • Build strong relationships across operations, engineering, commercial and client teams.
  • Drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSSE requirements.

About The Project

UGL Transport is supporting the introduction of NSW's next generation Regional Rail Fleet through the delivery of critical infrastructure upgrades at the Sydenham Maintenance Centre. This high-profile program will modernise maintenance facilities and infrastructure to support the future operation of regional passenger rail services across New South Wales.

The Opportunity

As a Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of critical infrastructure upgrades supporting the next generation Regional Rail Fleet. Working across our Sydney CBD Project Office and the Sydenham Maintenance Centre, you will collaborate with engineering, operational and delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and successfully.

Reporting to the Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing assigned projects from concept development through to delivery as part of a critical rail infrastructure upgrade program.

Working across both office and site environments, you will oversee project planning, design coordination, procurement, stakeholder engagement and delivery activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
