Job summary

Job description

We’re looking to speak with Construction Managers who have delivered modular buildings or workforce accommodation projects. You’ll bring the technical construction experience to shape how work is planned and built, as well as the commercial judgement to see it delivered successfully.

This Brisbane-based opportunity offers a broad construction remit with a strong connection to the work on site. You’ll provide direction on buildability, construction methods and programs, guide project and site teams, and remain personally involved when key delivery decisions need to be made.

The Role

You’ll work across the design, commercial and site delivery aspects of construction. Early on, your input will help identify practical ways to build the work, sequence activities and address risks before they affect site progress. During delivery, you’ll support teams and subcontractors, review performance and help resolve the technical and commercial issues that can hold a project back.

The role also includes direct ownership of project delivery. You’ll have the reach to influence the broader construction approach while staying close enough to the work to follow decisions through to completion.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Shape construction approaches, sequencing and programs for modular building and accommodation works.
• Review designs and project requirements for buildability and delivery risks.
• Guide project and site teams, supporting decisions on resources, subcontractors, safety and quality.
• Monitor construction progress and commercial performance, including budgets, forecasts and key contract matters.
• Work directly with clients, consultants and subcontractors to resolve construction challenges.
• Take an active role in project delivery through to completion, defects close-out and handover.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll have delivered modular buildings or workforce accommodation projects and have the construction knowledge to make sound decisions from planning through to site delivery. You’ll be able to lead people, challenge a construction approach when needed and work through practical solutions with the team.

You may already be a Construction Manager, or a Senior Project Manager whose experience extends beyond managing individual project tasks into construction planning and team leadership. Strong commercial awareness, a current driver’s licence and a Construction Industry White Card are also important.
