Job summary

JRG Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager with ground improvement expertise to lead multiple NSW projects and occasional interstate work. You will oversee delivery from award to completion with a strong focus on safety, schedule, and budget, while building client relationships and guiding project teams.

The role requires Australian experience in ground engineering and a proactive leadership style, with opportunities for progression within a growing contractor.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Formal project management qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of industry experience, including Australia and/or New Zealand.
• At least 5 years of Project Management experience in ground engineering, geotechnical or foundation construction.

Responsibilities

• Manage successful delivery of projects within budget, programme and client objectives.
• Provide commercial oversight including contracts, variations, claims and project financial performance.
• Coordinate labour, plant, subcontractors and resources.
• Ensure works comply with project specs, standards and statutory requirements.

Project Manager (Ground Improvement Solutions)

**Must have local Australian experience as a Project Manager working in Ground Anchoring (Soil nailing & Rock bolting), Jet Grouting, Shotcrete, Ground Improvement works **

The Company Our client is a leading specialist contractor operating within the ground engineering, ground improvement and civil construction sectors across Australia. With a strong reputation for delivering complex and technically challenging projects, the business provides a broad range of services including specialist foundations, ground improvement, soil stabilisation, micropiling, ground anchoring systems, shotcrete, jet grouting, grouting and civil construction works. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Manager with Ground Engineering and Ground Improvement experience to join their team. The successful candidate will have Australian experience delivering projects involving:

• Ground Anchoring (Soil Nailing & Rock Bolting)
• Jet Grouting and Grouting
• Slope Stabilisation
• Ground Improvement
• Foundation Piling and Micropiling

This is a permanent position based out of the company's Inner West Sydney office. The role involves ad hoc travel, depending on project requirements, including regional travel and, at times, interstate travel. Projects are located throughout the Greater Sydney region as well as regional areas of New South Wales.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects across New South Wales and, from time to time, interstate. This position offers a combination of operational, commercial and leadership responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on project performance, client management and team development. The successful candidate will oversee projects from initial award through to completion, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget.

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

• A degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Formal project management qualifications or equivalent experience
• Minimum 10 years of industry experience, including experience within Australia and/or New Zealand
• At least 5 years of Project Management experience within the ground engineering, geotechnical or foundation construction sectors
• Knowledge and experience delivering projects with scopes: Ground Anchoring (Soil Nailing & Rock Bolting),Jet Grouting and Grouting, Slope Stabilisation,Ground Improvement,Foundation Piling and Micropiling.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently
• Strong technical understanding of specialist foundation and ground engineering methodologies
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
• Sound commercial, contractual and risk management capabilities
• Strong leadership, mentoring and team development skills
