Job summary

ConnectYou is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead EV charging infrastructure projects across Australia. You will own a portfolio of concurrent projects, managing delivery from early works and design coordination through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

You will ensure projects are delivered safely on programme and within budget while maintaining strong commercial performance and client relationships. Occasional interstate travel may be required.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist contractor operating nationally, responsible for the delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects across Australia.

The role will take ownership of a portfolio of concurrent projects, managing delivery from early works and design coordination through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely on programme and within budget while maintaining strong commercial performance and client relationships

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple EV charging infrastructure projects concurrently.
• Develop and manage project scopes, programmes, budgets, resource plans and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate projects through feasibility, design, approvals, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, cash flow, progress claims, variations and commercial risks.
• Monitor project programmes and critical milestones to ensure delivery remains on schedule.
• Coordinate internal engineering and delivery teams, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors and external consultants.
• Manage subcontractor performance, programming and delivery across multiple sites.
• Ensure procurement activities and long-lead items are managed to avoid delays to project delivery.
• Manage project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, regulatory, permit and client requirements.
• Provide visible safety leadership and ensure subcontractors maintain appropriate HSE standards.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Build strong relationships with asset owners, site operators, network providers, regulatory bodies and other project stakeholders.
• Attend site and client meetings as required and proactively resolve project issues and disputes.
• Lead and support project delivery personnel, including engineers, site teams and project administration resources.
• Contribute to lessons learnt, standardisation and continuous improvement across the wider project portfolio.

Required Experience

• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently, ideally within EV charging, electrical infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy or broader infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from design and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Proven commercial capability across project budgets, forecasting, contracts, variations, progress claims and cost reporting.
• Strong subcontractor, supplier and stakeholder management experience.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple project sites and delivery stages.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using project management and scheduling systems such as Microsoft Project.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven project environment.
• Willingness to undertake occasional interstate and site travel.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline is desirable.
• Electrical trade qualification / electrical licence highly regarded.
