Job summary

Hinchen Recruitment Group is seeking a Project Manager – Electrical Power, Controls and Integration Lead for a live industrial site in Berrima, NSW. You will deliver electrical infrastructure upgrades and manage plant controls integration across multiple project packages.

You will oversee design, procurement, installation, energisation and commissioning, collaborating with engineering, construction and operations specialists to integrate new equipment with existing plant control systems.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of electrical or industrial project delivery experience.
• Experience with electrical infrastructure and/or control system upgrades in brownfield/live environments.
• Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience in cement, mining, manufacturing or heavy industry is highly regarded.

Project Manager – Electrical Power, Controls and Integration

Our client, a major Australian construction materials producer, is seeking a Project Manager to deliver electrical infrastructure upgrades and plant controls integration across its Alternative Fuels and Alternative Raw Materials projects at Berrima, NSW

This is an opportunity to take responsibility for the power and automation systems that bring multiple project packages together, managing delivery from design and procurement through installation, safe energisation and commissioning.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager – Capital Projects, you will work alongside engineering, construction and operations specialists to integrate new equipment into a live industrial plant.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering HV/LV infrastructure upgrades and plant electrical distribution works.
• Coordinating PLC, SCADA, instrumentation and automation upgrades.
• Integrating new equipment with existing plant control systems.
• Managing electrical contractors, equipment vendors and controls integrators.
• Planning power outages, shutdowns, connections and safe energisation.
• Coordinating configuration, functional testing, commissioning and startup.
• Controlling scope, budgets, schedules and risks across electrical and controls interfaces.

What you will bring

You will have around 5–10 years of electrical or industrial project delivery experience, including electrical infrastructure and/or control system upgrades within a brownfield or live operating environment.

You will also bring:

• Working knowledge of HV/LV systems, electrical distribution and industrial controls.
• Proven contractor management and multidisciplinary coordination experience.
• Practical involvement in energisation, commissioning and system integration.
• The ability to interpret electrical drawings, control logic and integration requirements.
• A disciplined approach to permits, isolations and electrical safety.

An Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience is desirable. Experience in cement, mining, manufacturing or heavy industry will be highly regarded, as will a background in electrical maintenance, automation, controls or plant reliability.
