Job summary

RPS, part of the Tetra Tech Group, is seeking qualified Project Managers to join our Perth team for large-scale infrastructure and commercial projects. The role focuses on client-side project management, contracts, and design management within a defence-focused portfolio.

Relocation packages are available and travel to sites is expected. The ideal candidate holds a tertiary PM-related qualification, Australian citizenship with baseline security clearance, and 5+ years of project management

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship and baseline security clearance is required.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• Recent construction project experience on client-side, contractor or designer.
• Defence sector experience is preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management, communications and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
• AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager certification or equivalent is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage construction projects on client-side, contractor or designer teams.
• Oversee contract administration and design management for major projects.
• Coordinate with Defence, university and government clients on complex assignments.
• Travel to sites and attend meetings as required, including Garden Island.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

RPS has an established client-side project management consulting business in Australia Asia Pacific, with over 400 project management staff. The RPS Project Management team in Perth currently consists of over 70 team members and is continuing to grow. We have a strong workbook for 2026 and beyond, with key long term projects we are delivering.

RPS is currently undertaking some exciting large scale infrastructure and commercial construction projects with our Defence, University and State Government clients. To support this, RPS is seeking qualified Project Managers with building and property experience to join our Perth team. Relocation packages available!

While the role is office-based, regular short distance travel for client meetings and site-based activities is required.

About you

You will hold a tertiary qualification in project management, architecture, engineering, construction management or similar; and have:

• Australian citizenship and holding or successfully able to obtain and retain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance. (AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP IS A MINIMUM REQUIRENT FOR THIS ROLE)
• 5+ years project management experience
• Demonstrated recent construction project experience with either client-side, contractor or designer.
• Defence sector experience
• A desire to work on major complex projects, be a team player, work within a large team, and provide guidance to more junior staff.
• A strong understanding and proven experience in managing construction contracts, contract administration and design management experience.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management, communications and leadership skills.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
• AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager certification or equivalent would be viewed favourably.
• Flexible to travel when required to site based meetings and activities for our clients on Garden Island.
