Pro Civil Works is an established civil construction contractor specialising in utility, electrical infrastructure and civil construction works throughout NSW.
Our work includes utility civil construction, substations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electrical infrastructure, trenching, pit and pipe, bulk earthworks, foundations and footings, access roads and associated civil packages.
As the business continues to expand into larger and more complex infrastructure projects, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of major civil construction packages.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful planning, management and delivery of civil infrastructure projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
The position will initially have a strong focus on the delivery of a major civil package associated with a large-scale BESS development, while also supporting other Pro Civil Works projects across substations, utility infrastructure, foundations and broader civil construction.
This is a hands‑on project delivery role requiring strong civil construction experience, commercial awareness, leadership capability and the ability to manage projects safely, efficiently and profitably.
We are specifically looking for someone with significant experience in utilities civils and broader civil construction, ideally with exposure to electrical infrastructure, substations, renewable energy or similar environments.
Take overall responsibility for project delivery from mobilisation through to practical completion and handover.
Develop and manage project execution plans, construction programs and delivery strategies.
Coordinate labour, plant, subcontractors, materials and project resources.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Manage multiple work fronts and construction activities across complex civil packages.
Identify potential project delays, constraints and risks early and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with Site Supervisors and Crew Leads to ensure daily construction activities align with the project program.
Maintain a strong field presence and actively engage with site teams.
Manage and coordinate works including:
Bulk earthworks.
Excavation and trenching.
Underground services.
Pit and pipe installations.
Electrical and communications conduits.
Substation civil works.
BESS civil construction.
Foundations and structural footings.
Equipment and transformer foundations.
Joint bays and service pits.
Earthing grid civil interfaces.
Road construction and access tracks.
Drainage.
Concrete works.
Site establishment and temporary works.
Rehabilitation and project close‑out.
Manage project budgets, cost tracking and financial performance.
Monitor project expenditure against budget and forecast project outcomes.
Review labour, plant, subcontractor and material costs.
Identify, prepare and manage variations and contractual claims.
Maintain variation registers and supporting documentation.
Review subcontractor claims and supplier invoices.
Manage project progress claims and supporting documentation.
Assist with procurement and subcontractor engagement.
Understand project contracts, scopes, exclusions and commercial obligations.
Work closely with senior management to maintain project profitability.
Identify commercial risks before they impact project performance.
Develop and maintain detailed construction programs.
Plan labour and plant requirements ahead of construction activities.
Coordinate project mobilisation and demobilisation.
Monitor productivity and project performance against planned outputs.
Manage competing priorities across multiple work fronts.
Ensure materials, subcontractors and equipment are available when required.
Identify resource constraints early and develop solutions.
Act as a key point of contact between Pro Civil Works and the client.
Build strong professional relationships with client representatives.
Attend project meetings, coordination meetings and progress reviews.
Provide clear reporting on project progress, risks and upcoming activities.
Coordinate with principal contractors, electrical contractors, engineers, designers and other project stakeholders.
Manage project issues professionally and proactively.
Represent Pro Civil Works in a professional and commercially responsible manner.
Working closely with the HSEQ team, the Project Manager will:
Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with Pro Civil Works' safety management systems.
Promote strong safety leadership across project teams.
Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved SWMS, ITPs, drawings and specifications.
Ensure project teams comply with client and regulatory requirements.
Participate in project risk assessments and construction planning.
Support incident investigations and corrective actions where required.
Ensure quality documentation and inspection records are completed correctly.
Monitor environmental controls and project compliance requirements.
Ensure project documentation is maintained accurately and consistently.
Prepare and maintain accurate project reporting including:
Project programs.
Cost reports.
Forecasts.
Progress reports.
Variation registers.
Procurement registers.
Risk registers.
Subcontractor registers.
Productivity reporting.
Project financial reporting.
Client progress documentation.
Project close‑out documentation.
Establish expectations around productivity, safety, quality and accountability.
Support Supervisors with planning and problem solving.
Promote strong communication between project management and field teams.

The successful candidate will have:
Significant Project Management experience within civil construction.
Strong experience delivering utilities civil infrastructure projects.
Extensive practical understanding of civil construction methodology.
Demonstrated experience managing large civil construction packages.
Experience managing site supervisors, subcontractors and construction crews.
Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
Experience managing project budgets and cost reporting.
Experience preparing and managing project programs.
Demonstrated experience managing variations and scope changes.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and project documentation.
Strong understanding of WHS and quality requirements.
Excellent communication and client management skills.
Strong computer literacy and ability to work with modern project management systems.
