Job summary

Edge Property & Real Estate Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Building on a temporary basis. Based in Adelaide SA, the role oversees building and refurbishment projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, budget control, and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of proven experience managing building or construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and industry standards
  • Experience with project planning, scheduling and cost management software
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and a safe workplace
  • Experience with contract management and commercial negotiations
  • Current police clearance and full working rights (Not suitable for working holiday visas)

Responsibilities

  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating all project activities to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
  • Managing project budgets, costs and financial reporting to stakeholders and senior management
  • Overseeing health, safety and environmental compliance on site and ensuring all statutory requirements are met
  • Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers and clients to maintain effective communication and resolve issues promptly
  • Monitoring project progress against agreed timelines and implementing corrective actions when necessary
  • Managing project documentation, including contracts, specifications, drawings and variation orders
  • Leading site inspections and quality assurance activities to ensure work meets contractual standards and specifications
  • Preparing regular progress reports and presenting updates to project stakeholders
  • Managing project risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimise potential impacts
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and industry best practice standards

About the role

Edge Property & Real Estate Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Building to join our client's team on a Temporary basis.

Based in Adelaide SA 5000, this role is pivotal in overseeing the successful delivery of building projects from inception through to completion. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of building and refurbishment projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position is essential to our client's operations and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the success of their built environment initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Planning, scheduling and coordinating all project activities to ensure timely and efficient project delivery

Managing project budgets, costs and financial reporting to stakeholders and senior management

Overseeing health, safety and environmental compliance on site and ensuring all statutory requirements are met

Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers and clients to maintain effective communication and resolve issues promptly

Monitoring project progress against agreed timelines and implementing corrective actions when necessary

Managing project documentation, including contracts, specifications, drawings and variation orders

Leading site inspections and quality assurance activities to ensure work meets contractual standards and specifications

What we’re looking for

3+ years of proven experience managing building or construction projects of varying complexity

Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and industry standards

Demonstrated experience with project planning, scheduling and cost management software

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams

Proven problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace

Experience with contract management and commercial negotiations

You must have a current police clearance and full working rights with no restrictions (Not suitable for working holiday visas).

What we offer

As a temp contract the role will be generally a 37.5 hour week within normal office hours, you will be paid weekly and the role will be to start asap.
