Responsibilities

• Managing, overseeing, and coordinating minor works projects from award through completion, including overall site management for timely completion within budget.
• Translating customer needs into detailed proposals and project implementation plans; reviewing and approving estimated costs prior to bid; supporting sales; supervising design engineering and installation labor.
• Identifying risks and developing strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from cost and deadlines.
• Establishing project milestones, analysing costs, reviewing actual vs. estimated costs and providing cost reports.
• Coordinating procurement of materials, supplies, and services for timely, cost-effective completion.
• Working with Sales and drafting change order proposals as needed.
• Maintaining accurate project records and reporting material flow and status to internal/external stakeholders.

The role

Our team requires a motivated individual based in Sydney to support the continued exceptional service and management of key minor works projects.

You will be responsible for

• Managing, overseeing, and coordinating minor works projects from award through completion of project, including overall site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget as required by the contract. Prepares project installation plan, manages the plan, and prepares and implements job procedures.
• Translating a variety of customer needs / requirements into detailed proposals and project implementation plans to meet customer requirements; reviewing and approving estimated costs prior to bid; providing technical assistance to sales force as and when required; supervising project design engineering, installation labor and subcontractors.
• Identifying potential project risks and develops/implements strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
• Establishing project milestones and analysing costs; reviewing actual vs. estimated job cost and providing timely and accurate project cost reports; identifying reasons for low job site productivity and determining impact on the project; adjusting or correcting project plan and/or project cost estimates as necessary to meet financial goals.
• Coordinating the procurement of materials, supplies, and services necessary for timely, qualitative, and cost-effective completion of projects within budget.
• Working with Sales colleagues and/or writing detailed change order proposals as necessary.
• Effectively communicating project requirements to the project team and management. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing internal and external reports.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of previous, relevant engineering, field service or project management experience preferred.
