Job description

Ready for a Sea Change? Step Up Your Career in WA’s Booming Economy!

Are you a Melbourne-based Project Manager with strong experience in Industrial, Warehousing, or Commercial builds looking for your next big career step and a lifestyle upgrade?

While candidate markets back east are competitive and tight, Western Australia’s economy is booming, offering unmatched long-term job security, massive project pipelines, and an enviable coastal lifestyle.

TalentBlue has been exclusively engaged by an industry-leading, national design and construction company to find a driven Project Manager to lead key projects out of their WA team based.

Why Make the Move to WA?
  • Booming Market & Career Growth: Take ownership of major industrial, warehousing, and commercial portal builds in one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.
  • Unbeatable Lifestyle: Ditch the long winter chill and commute for sunny weather, world-class beaches, affordable living, and a balanced work-life environment.
  • National Support, Local Impact: Work for a client with strong Victorian roots who values client-centric delivery, professionalism, and excellence—building relationships before building projects.
About the Role

Reporting directly to the WA Manager, you will manage projects through all stages to ensure delivery within budget, on time, and to exceptional quality standards. You will lead a high-performing team on-site, supervising Site Managers, Junior Site Managers, Project Coordinators, and site personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain construction schedules using MS Project, execute critical path planning, and optimise resource allocation.
  • Operational Delivery: Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring full contractual compliance and prompt quality control.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage project finances, budget estimates, and cost forecasting.
  • Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and build a positive, productive culture across site and office personnel.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Lead regular PCG/site meetings and manage client expectations with high commercial acumen.
  • Design & Compliance: Coordinate consultants, address constructability issues, and enforce strict OHS, quality, and environmental compliance.
What We Are Looking For
  • Sector Expertise: Proven track record in Industrial & Warehousing (portals/sheds), commercial, education, healthcare, or government builds.
  • Qualifications & Experience:
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering with 5+ years of relevant PM experience in a similar-sized tier/business; OR
    • Strong experienced Associate Project Managers ready to step up into a full PM role with a proven record of exceeding targets.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with MS Project and ERP systems specific to the industry.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, commercial acumen, conflict resolution, constructability knowledge, and the ability to work autonomously.
