Job summary

Architech Network and Communications Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the PMO on a full-time fixed-term 18-month contract. Based in Port Melbourne or Bendigo, with client-site work as required, you will lead IT infrastructure and networking projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time delivery and budget compliance.

You will manage client communications, coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors, and produce clear project documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up or running a PMO with focus on documentation, reporting and on-time/on-budget delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT infrastructure and networking projects from scoping to handover.
• Keep projects on time, within scope, and on budget; identify risks early.
• Be the main client contact for project communications, updates and escalations.
• Coordinate internal teams, vendors and suppliers to deliver successfully.
• Draft project documentation and status reports that are clear and actionable.
• Track project costs, manage invoicing, and maintain billing milestones.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a senior Project Manager to join the PMO team on a full-time fixed-term 18 month contract. You can be based in Port Melbourne or Bendigo, with some time on client sites when the work calls for it.

What you will be doing

• Running IT infrastructure and networking projects from start to finish, across scoping, delivery, and handover
• Keeping projects on time, within scope, and on budget, and picking up risks and variations before they become problems
• Being the main contact for your clients across all project communications, updates, and escalations
• Pulling together internal teams, vendors, and suppliers to get things delivered properly
• Writing project documentation and status reports that are clear and actually useful
• Tracking project costs, managing invoicing, and keeping billing milestones up to date
• Doing post-project reviews and feeding what you learn back to the PMO and wider business
• Looking after your team on site and keeping health and safety front of mind

What we are looking for

You will need

• 15 or more years of project management experience, with solid runs on the board in IT infrastructure or networking projects
• Experience in setting up or running a PMO practise – with focus in ensuring PMO team meets the OKRs of up to date documentation, accurate reporting, delivering projects on time & on budget
• Prince2, PMP, or a comparable project management certification
• Experience running several complex projects at the same time without things falling through the cracks
• Good communication skills, enough to manage clients, internal teams, and vendors with confidence and without constant escalation
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Project; ConnectWise experience is a bonus
• Enough technical awareness to have a sensible conversation with an engineer about networking, security, wireless, unified comms, or data centre environments
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own time across a varied workload
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency with full working rights
• A current driver’s licence and your own vehicle for site visits

It will work in your favour if you have

• Project management experience in a healthcare environment or public sector
• Developed and/or managed PMO practice, responsible for the overall hygiene within the PMO team across reporting, financial metrics & utilisation
• Experience in large / turn-key hospital builds/redevelopment ICT projects
• Worked with Cisco, Fortinet products before, across networking, security, or collaboration
• A background in IT managed services or professional services
