The role requires a Diploma related to building, construction, business, or project management, plus extensive construction project management experience.

Job Title: Project Manager – Commercial Construction

The Role:

Randstad are seeking experienced and driven Project Managers to ensure the efficient management of commercial construction projects. Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, this dynamic position takes responsibility for comprehensive cost and time control, as well as effective people management. You will play a vital role in leading on-site teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and driving projects to successful, high-quality completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Project & Time Management: Ensure project programmes are achieved within specified time frames while optimising time-saving advantages. Coordinate all site construction activities in conjunction with the site manager, ensure effective project handovers, and complete comprehensive risk assessments.
• Cost Control & Financials: Achieve budget goals by monitoring, controlling, and reporting on project costs, margin estimates, and subcontract negotiations. Prepare cost plans, accurately price variations, and assist the project administrator with progress claims and invoices.
• Contract Administration: Review and approve contracts, interpret specific agreements to ascertain the exact requirements for the company to follow, and ensure compliance with relevant acts, regulations, and codes of practice.
• Leadership & People Management: Provide professional guidance and respectful leadership to staff, support training for employees (including apprentices), and actively manage employee performance. Identify labour resource requirements and assist with the recruitment and induction of new team members.
• Quality & Administration: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, ensure the quality of all project work, and prevent repetitive faults or deficiencies. Keep the detailed construction programme updated fortnightly, record accurate meeting minutes, and liaise with clients regarding defects, retention releases, and outstanding debt.

About You

• You hold a Diploma in Building and Construction, Business, or Project Management.
• You possess extensive experience in construction project management or a similar field.
• You have a current driver's licence and hold a valid White card.
• You demonstrate excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialized packages, alongside strong administrative and estimating abilities.
• You exhibit sound time management and organizational skills, coupled with a high level of attention to detail.
• You have a positive attitude, are personable, and possess strong communication skills that demonstrate an excellent aptitude for conflict resolution.
• You are capable of demonstrating initiative, effective decision-making, and problem-solving skills, supported by a strong understanding of standard contracts and subcontract agreements.
