Job summary

Service Stream Limited is recruiting a Project Manager to join its Defence division in the Northern Territory. The role is permanent and full-time, based at one of the major defence bases.

You will lead estate maintenance projects, coordinate surveys and quotes, and manage cross-functional teams to deliver on contractual requirements. The ideal candidate has at least five years of project management experience, preferably in defence.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in project management, preferably in the Defence sector or similar industry.
• Experience with estate maintenance request activities, survey & quote activities, and estate works requests is highly desirable.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and ability to communicate with multiple groups.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in project management software tools.
• Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage projects arising from estate maintenance request activities, survey & quote activities, and estate works across multiple defence bases.
• Develop, review, and maintain project quality plans to meet high standards and ensure documentation compliance.
• Prepare and present project status reports to PMO Lead and senior management.
• Conduct regular financial performance reviews to ensure projects are on budget and viable.
• Coordinate with military personnel, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ensure Health & Safety guidelines are set, implemented, and monitored throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee procurement of materials/services and identify risks with mitigation strategies.

About the role

• Developing, reviewing, and maintaining project quality plans to ensure high standards are met and compliance of project documentation.

• Preparing and presenting project status reports to the PMO Lead and other senior management.

• Conducting regular financial performance reviews to ensure projects are on budget and financially viable.

• Coordinating with various stakeholders, including military personnel, contractors, and internal teams.

• Ensuring workplace health and safety guidelines are set, implemented, and monitored throughout the project lifecycle.

• Overseeing the procurement of materials and services required for project completing and identifying potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• 5 years' experience in project management, preferably in the Defence sector or similar industry.

• Experience with estate maintenance request activities, survey & quote activities, and estate works requests are highly desirable.

• Experience in stakeholder engagement, and the ability to effectively communicate with multiple groups.

• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and standards.

• Proficiency in project management software tools.

• Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent would be advantageous.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
