Elite Roads in Victoria is seeking an experienced Project Manager to take overall accountability for the delivery of multiple concurrent contracts, leading project teams through full lifecycle from award to completion.

You will own commercial and operational performance—forecasting, budgets, program, quality and safety—while engaging clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. A leadership role for mentoring engineers and coordinators is included.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years' proven experience in project management within the construction industry.
• Tertiary qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading project teams including engineers and site staff.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience owning budgets and forecasting.
• Comprehensive understanding of contracts, tendering and compliance obligations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

With continual growth and exciting projects in the pipeline to close out 2026 and commence 2027, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team.

As the Project Manager, you will take overall accountability for the successful delivery of multiple, concurrent contracts — leading project teams, including Project Engineers and site staff, through the full project lifecycle from award to completion.

The Project Manager owns the commercial and operational performance of their project portfolio: forecasting, budgets, program, quality and safety outcomes, while acting as the senior point of contact for clients, subcontractors, governing bodies and internal stakeholders. This is a leadership role responsible for setting the standard for project delivery across the business and for mentoring and developing the engineers and coordinators reporting into it.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the General Manager, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Take full accountability for a portfolio of projects, ensuring delivery and execution on-time, within budget and to a high-quality standard.
• Lead the planning, resourcing and program management of each project to meet scope, quality, cost, time, safety and environmental requirements.
• Own financial performance across the portfolio — budgets, forecasting, cost control and reporting of project status to the executive team.
• Lead and manage Project Engineers, coordinators and site teams, setting clear expectations, providing mentoring and direction, and building a high-performing delivery culture.
• Take the lead role in client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships, including contract negotiation, dispute resolution and commercial decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, contractual obligations, IMS standards, OHS&E requirements and performance specifications across all projects under your control.
• Drive continuous improvement across the business by championing new practices, technologies and processes to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
• Support tendering and business development activity, including scoping, estimating input and contract review for upcoming opportunities.

ABOUT YOU

• A minimum of 5–7 years' proven experience in project management within the construction industry, including experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Tertiary qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing project teams, including Project Engineers and site-based staff.
• Strong commercial acumen, with proven experience owning project budgets, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction contracts, tendering processes and relevant compliance obligations.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with sound judgement and decision-making ability under pressure.
• Deadline focused, highly organised, and confident managing competing priorities across a project portfolio.
