Job summary

ARA Security is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex electronic security projects from Cairns and surrounding areas. The role requires strong leadership of cross-functional teams and close collaboration with clients and technical staff to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will manage end-to-end projects including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security platforms, while ensuring compliance, safety, and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager in electronic security or related tech.
• Proven ability to deliver multi-site or complex security projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of electronic security technologies and installation practices.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Clear communication and problem-solving with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with WHS standards and industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of electronic security projects (access control, CCTV, intrusion, intercoms).
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Job description

Due to the growth within the branch we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in electronic security to join our team at ARA Security. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of complex security system projects across Cairns and surrounding locations. This is a full-time position based in our Cairns office, working closely with clients, technical teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

What you'll be doing

Managing end-to-end delivery of electronic security projects, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, intercoms, and integrated security platforms

Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules and budgets to ensure timely and on-budget completion of projects

Coordinating and leading cross-functional teams, including technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders

Overseeing system installations, commissioning activities, and handover processes

Identifying project risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies

Providing regular progress updates, reporting, and milestone tracking to senior management and clients

Ensuring all project deliverables meet technical specifications, compliance requirements, and quality standards

Building strong client relationships and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction

Supporting and mentoring junior project staff and fostering a collaborative, safety-focused work environment

What we’re looking for

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager in the electronic security, systems integration, or related technology industry

Demonstrated success delivering multi-site or complex security system projects on time and within budget

Strong understanding of electronic security technologies, standards, and installation practices

Excellent project management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder management

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Familiarity with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and WHS standards

Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or similar platforms

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Security Technology, or a related field
