Job summary

Firerite Services is seeking a capable, commercially minded Project Manager to join our Brisbane team and take ownership of fire protection installation projects from planning through to completion.

You don't need to come from the fire industry. If your background is in construction, building services, mechanical, electrical, plumbing or another trade environment, and you know how to coordinate people, budgets, programs and clients, we'd like to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Project management or construction delivery experience.
• Experience coordinating trades, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence managing project costs.
• Ability to read and work from construction documentation, specifications and project programs.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Confident communication with clients, builders, consultants and subcontractors.
• A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accountability for project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the complete project lifecycle from handover and planning through commissioning and completion.
• Develop and manage project programs, milestones, site requirements and deadlines.
• Establish and manage budgets across labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Coordinate purchasing and delivery of materials and equipment to align with project requirements and construction programs.
• Plan and coordinate technicians, trades and subcontractors to ensure resources are available at each stage.
• Maintain site progress and coordinate with builders and other trades to keep works moving.
• Work closely with clients, builders, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors throughout delivery.
• Identify, price, document and manage variations and changes to project scope.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications and standards.
• Manage RFIs, drawings, approvals, project correspondence and progress reporting.
• Monitor quality and risk, coordinating solutions to avoid delays.
• Coordinate progress claims, invoicing and subcontractor costs.
• Coordinate system testing, commissioning, inspections and certifications.
• Manage practical completion, as-built information and final documentation.
