Job summary

DFP Recruitment in Sydney is seeking an experienced National Medicines Record Terminology Project Lead to drive the delivery of a national medicines terminology program and enhance the National Clinical Terminology Service.

Reporting to the Director, Clinical Terminology, you will lead multi-stakeholder delivery across government, healthcare, industry and technology, with AMT and national datasets expertise essential for success.

We are seeking an experienced National Medicines Record Terminology Project Lead to lead the delivery of the National Medicines Record Terminology project and contribute to the enhancement of the National Clinical Terminology Service.

This is a unique opportunity to combine senior project leadership with specialist medicines terminology expertise, helping shape national approaches to medicines information, interoperability and clinical safety.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Clinical Terminology, you will lead complex project delivery across government, healthcare, industry and technology stakeholders. You will provide authoritative advice on the Australian Medicines Terminology (AMT) and related national medicines datasets, including the PBS, ARTG and NPC.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading project planning, delivery, governance, schedules, risks, dependencies and outcomes.
• Providing expert advice on medicines terminology and national medicines datasets.
• Leading stakeholder engagement, industry consultation and cross-sector workshops.
• Building consensus and supporting change and implementation across government, vendors, clinicians and consumers.
• Preparing executive briefings, governance papers, reports, submissions and strategic advice.
• Supporting policies, frameworks and digital health capabilities that improve interoperability and safer medicines management.
• Managing project resources, procurement, contracts and financial requirements as required.

About you

You will bring demonstrated experience in complex digital health project delivery, ideally within a multi-vendor or government environment, together with strong knowledge of the Australian medicines’ information landscape.

You will have:

• Expert knowledge and practical experience with AMT and national medicines datasets, including PBS, ARTG and NPC.
• A strong track record delivering complex digital health projects, including managing schedules, risks, dependencies and deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience advising executives and governance bodies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to turn complex technical and clinical information into clear, actionable advice.
• Proven stakeholder engagement, consultation and workshop facilitation skills across government, clinical, consumer and industry groups.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in health informatics, pharmacy, information management, project management, digital health or a related discipline.

Experience with procurement, contracts and financial administration, together with an understanding of the broader national digital medicines ecosystem, including electronic prescribing, real-time prescription monitoring and interoperability standards, will be highly regarded.
