Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Financial Manager/Controller for a Sydney-based joinery business. The role covers full finance function across multiple entities in a busy project environment.

You will manage monthly reporting, close, job costing, WIP, progress claims, payroll, BAS and compliance, with a hands-on, commercially-minded approach and strong MYOB skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Accountant.
• Construction/joinery or project-based experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, progress claims and retentions.
• Experience with MYOB and multi-entity accounting.
• Payroll and compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Monthly management reporting, P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
• Month-end/year-end close, reconciliations and intercompany accounting
• Job costing, WIP and project margin analysis
• Progress claims and retentions
• Cashflow forecasting and working capital management
• AP, AR and weekly payroll
• BAS, IAS, PAYG, super and payroll tax
• Liaising with external accountants and supporting the Managing Director with commercial reporting
