Job summary

Central Steel Build in Australia is seeking a hands-on Commercial Analyst to drive profitability across project-based work. You will analyse quoted versus delivered margins, monitor WIP, and develop insights to maximise project outcomes.

Reporting to the CFO, you’ll collaborate with Finance, Operations, Sales, Procurement and Project Managers to improve pricing accuracy and identify revenue leakage. A lean, data-driven mindset and advanced Excel/Power BI skills are essential.

Qualifications

3-5 years in a commercial or financial analyst role, project-based exposure preferred.
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, variations and commercial risk.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
Experience with ERP and BI reporting systems such as NetSuite and Power BI.
CA/CPA progress desirable.

Responsibilities

Analyse quoted versus delivered margins and prepare monthly gross profit reviews.
Support monthly WIP reporting including accruals and cost-to-complete.
Maintain variations and claims register through pricing, approval and invoicing.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities across the project portfolio.
Deliver monthly commercial reporting and KPI dashboards (Power BI).
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Project Management and Engineering.
