Job summary

WSP in Australia is looking for a Project Lead with a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and 5-8 years of industry experience. This role involves leading multifaceted projects, ensuring quality delivery, and mentoring junior engineers within a collaborative team.

  • Commercial experience in Australia on local medium/large engineering projects.
  • Well versed in delivering multiple, concurrent projects in various sectors.

Job description

What you’ll do
  • Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi‑year/packaged work for turnkey projects.
  • Ensure timely and quality of delivery for project and structural engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards – and in alignment with schedules and budgets.
  • Handle ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients.
  • Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team.
  • Mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting.
About you
  • Bachelor to Masters’ level degree (Civil/Structural Engineering)
  • 5‑8 years industry experience in the Property and Building space within consulting.
  • Commercial experience in Australia on local medium/large engineering projects is essential.
  • Well versed in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scale and sector e.g. commercial, retail, defence, health, education.
  • Solid proficiency in all‑round structural engineering design including post‑tensioned concrete.
  • Track record of effective cross‑discipline project delivery.
  • The ability to lead, train and mentor junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects.
  • Naturally curious, passionate, adaptable & ready to do the kind of work the world needs.
