Glencore in Mount Isa, Queensland, is recruiting a Project Engineer - Mechanical to lead mechanical projects in the Smelter Projects Department. Based in Mount Isa on a 5/2 4/3 roster, you will deliver safe, efficient projects while building strong relationships across the site and wider business.

You will oversee scoping, design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and QA activities, driving continuous improvement and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong safety leadership and safe work practices.
• Experience in mechanical engineering including project scoping, design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and QA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, efficient, and compliant outcomes aligned with business objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with key site stakeholders.

Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a Project Engineer - Mechanical vacancy that exists in the Smelter Projects Department. This role is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a 5/2 4/3 roster.

Required Experience

Qualifications & Skills

• A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
• A strong commitment to safety leadership, fostering a positive safety culture and adherence to safe work practices.
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering, including project scoping, design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and quality assurance activities.
• Proven success in delivering mechanical projects, with the ability to manage multiple project phases from concept through to completion.
• Well-developed problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet project objectives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business and project management systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
