Job summary

Mount Isa Mines is seeking an Engineer - Mechanical to join the Smelter Projects team in Mount Isa, Queensland. The role is residentially based, operating on a 5/2 and 4/3 roster within the Engineering Department.

The successful candidate will bring a Mechanical Engineering degree and 2–5 years in mining or construction, with strong safety culture and the ability to work autonomously and within a team. Opportunities include capital project delivery and cross-plant collaboration.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-5 years mining and/or construction industry experience.
• Project Management experience will be highly regarded.
• Working within a team environment, but able to work autonomously.
• Strong safety culture and work ethic are fundamental to success.

Responsibilities

• Capital Projects delivery including scoping, design, project management and installation.
• Budget and schedule control.
• Perform engineering calculations, design reviews, and risk assessments.
• Managing external suppliers and ensuring compliance with site standards.
• Building relationships with end users to provide pragmatic engineering solutions.
• Completion and reporting on planned and ad-hoc safety inspections and audits.

The successful candidate you will have:
