Job summary

Alfabs Group in Sydney seeks a Project Engineer for major projects to bridge engineering, project management, fabrication and site delivery. You will own technical requirements, help solve challenges before they become issues, and ensure drawings, methodologies, ITPs and quality documentation are prepared for safe delivery on site.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required or desired.
• 5–8 years of experience in a similar project engineer role.
• Site-based experience in an industrial/heavy environment preferred.
• Proven experience in managing construction projects, particularly site services.
• Solid understanding of safety requirements and standards.
• Excellent written communication for documentation and reports.
• Strong customer service and networking abilities; proactive collaboration.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of on-site and off-site technical requirements across projects.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specs and client requirements.
• Develop and coordinate shop drawings, construction methodologies, ITPs and quality docs.
• Work with PMs, Construction Managers and Supervisors for practical install solutions.
• Plan fabrication, yard assembly, modularisation, transport and installation methods.
• Provide technical support and resolve engineering and construction issues during delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure activities and docs comply with codes, standards and quality requirements.
• Support planning, programming, reporting and delivery using MS Project and Office.
• Identify opportunities to improve constructability and productivity.
• Maintain focus on safety, quality, programme and project success.
