Job summary

CGC Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer for a major bridge construction project in Central Queensland on a 5/2 FIFO roster. Join a well-established civil contractor in Brisbane with nearly 20 years in the market and a growing pipeline of technically challenging projects.

You will manage day-to-day project engineering, coordinate subcontractors, monitor costs, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring DTMR standards and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Approximately 5+ years' experience in civil construction.
• Proven experience delivering major concrete structures.
• Strong exposure to structural concrete / Form, Reo & Pour works.
• Experience working to DTMR standards and specifications.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery.
• The ability to work autonomously while supporting the wider project team.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A willingness to work in a regional Queensland environment.
• A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within a specialist contractor.

Responsibilities

• Managing all day-to-day Project Engineering activities
• Supporting the Project Manager with project delivery and coordination
• Managing technical documentation, RFIs, ITPs, QA and project records
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site activities
• Assisting with programming, planning and project reporting
• Monitoring project costs, variations and progress
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications and DTMR standards
• Working closely with the construction team to resolve technical and engineering issues
• Mentoring and developing a Site Engineer
• Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and successful project delivery

We are currently working with a well-established specialist civil contractor, based in Brisbane for almost 20 years, who have built a strong reputation for delivering complex civil and structural projects across Queensland.

With a growing project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer to join the business on a full-time basis, initially working on a major bridge construction project in Central Queensland on a 5/2 FIFO roster.

The Project

This is a technically challenging bridge construction project involving significant structural concrete and complex civil works.

• Managing all day-to-day Project Engineering activities
• Supporting the Project Manager with project delivery and coordination

About You

We are looking to speak with Civil Engineers with approximately 5 years' experience working for an established civil contractor.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Approximately 5+ years' experience in civil construction
• Proven experience delivering major concrete structures

• Experience working to DTMR standards and specifications
