Job summary

John Holland Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our Melbourne Water Framework on a Werribee, VIC project. You will coordinate construction activities, assist with budgets and reports, and ensure compliance with plans, designs, and specifications.

The role requires a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, LV/HV systems experience, PLC/SCADA knowledge, and a proven ability to manage subcontractors, cost, and risk on water infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level electrical engineering degree required.
  • Experience with LV/HV systems and instrumentation & control.
  • Practical knowledge of PLC networks and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate construction engineering activities per plans, designs, specs.
  • Assist with site budgets and reports.
  • Monitor progress and report to Site Manager or Project Manager.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen in project decisions.
  • Assign work and review subcontractor performance.
  • Apply relevant contractual and legal requirements to the project.
  • Conduct safety, environmental and quality risk assessments.
  • Manage document control, progress reporting and compliance.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and resource planning.

About The Project:

JV partnership between John Holland and KBR delivering innovative and high-quality assets and upgrades with Melbourne Water to ensure communities across Melbourne continue to enjoy high quality water supply and seamless sewage removal and treatment.

The JHG-KBR JV have delivered a wide range of important infrastructure projects for the region including, water and sewer pipeline renewals, treatment plant upgrades, civil and road works and reservoir improvements.

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our Melbourne Water Framework on an upcoming project in Werribee, VIC.

Your Role:
  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
  • Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports
  • Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manger or Project Manager
  • Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
  • Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards
  • Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
  • Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting
  • Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes
  • Utilize effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management
