Spiire is seeking an Engineering Officer or Civil Engineer to deliver civil infrastructure and land development work in Warrnambool, with support from the Geelong team. You will contribute from design through delivery, collaborating with a broad team and taking on progressively responsible tasks.
We value practical civil infrastructure experience, the ability to work across both design and construction, and a willingness to learn.
At Spiire, our purpose is to better our communities, create opportunities for our people and clients, and deliver value to our stakeholders.
We bring together civil and water engineers, landscape architects, construction consultants, surveyors, town planners and urban designers to support the property and infrastructure sectors.
With over 430 employees, we're one of Australia's largest employee-owned property and infrastructure consultancies, bringing over 40 years of experience and local expertise to projects across Melbourne, Bendigo, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Geelong, Ballarat, Shepparton, Gippsland, Albury and Wodonga, and Townsville.
No matter how you say it, we're glad you're here!
With a growing pipeline of local projects, we're looking for an Engineering Officer or Civil Engineer to help deliver civil infrastructure and land development work in Warrnambool.
You might come from civil design and drafting, construction supervision or an engineering role with a consultancy, contractor, council or servicing authority. Whatever your pathway, you'll bring practical civil infrastructure experience and an interest in working across both design and construction.
Working closely with our Warrnambool lead and supported by our Geelong team, you'll contribute to projects as they move from drawings to delivery on site. The mix of responsibilities will reflect your experience and strengths, with opportunities to broaden your skills over time.
This role will see you:
You'll be based in Warrnambool, with travel to our Geelong office, to connect and collaborate with the broader team as required.
You bring a solid foundation in civil infrastructure design or construction, ideally with at least two years of relevant experience. We're open to people at different stages of their careers, including experienced practitioners looking for variety and the opportunity to contribute locally.
You don't need to have worked across every aspect of the role. Your practical experience, willingness to learn and ability to work collaboratively are what matter.
You'll bring:
Survey experience would be valued, but isn't essential. Experience with 12d would also be welcome.
A qualification in civil engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial, but we also welcome applications from people who have developed their skills through hands-on industry experience. An engineering degree is not essential for the Engineering Officer pathway.
This is an opportunity to help shape Spiire's growing presence in Warrnambool and see the impact of your work in the local community.
You'll work closely with an experienced local colleague while drawing on the technical expertise and support of our Geelong team and broader network. As projects progress, you'll have opportunities to build your experience across design and construction and develop your career in a direction that suits your strengths.
Whether you're already based in the region or looking to make Warrnambool your home, we'd love to hear from you.
At Spiire, we believe our culture is our difference. As a successful and growing employee-owned business, we recognise and reward the contributions of our people and provide real opportunities and pathways for career progression.
