Job summary

DIALOG Fitzroy in Sydney is seeking a motivated engineer to deliver projects in Australia and New Zealand. You will coordinate engineering deliverables, support managers, and work with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Engineering and 3-5+ years' experience in EPC environments; familiarity with MS Project or Primavera; willingness to travel to sites; strong client relations and safety focus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred; Chemical/Process, Civil, or related disciplines considered).
  • 3-5+ years' experience in a Project Engineer or similar role within an oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial, or EPC project environment.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project execution methodologies, industry standards and codes.
  • Experience in mechanical fabrication (SMP, tanks) and/or industrial construction projects highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting construction and site-based execution activities.
  • Familiarity with project management, scheduling, and reporting tools (e.g. MS Project; Primavera advantageous).
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience supporting cost control, schedule management, change management, and contractor performance.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with contractors, suppliers, logistics providers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering coordination and delivery of small to medium sized projects for the Projects Division, working independently or within a team.
  • Support Project and Engineering Managers in the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects across all EPC phases.
  • Coordinate and manage engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with project and contractual requirements.
  • Provide engineering input into project scope definition, design reviews, risk assessments, and execution strategies.
  • Track and report on project cost, schedule, performance, and risk, supporting proactive issue identification and resolution.
  • Coordinate communication and interfaces between engineering disciplines, procurement, construction contractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Provide engineering and technical support during construction, installation, and commissioning activities, including site inspections and issue resolution.
  • Lead and support tender preparation, proposals, scopes of work, and project documentation.
  • Support contractor, supplier, and logistics management to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
  • Support Site Operations Coordinators and field teams to achieve successful construction and delivery outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development and expansion into new sectors.
  • Participate in client meetings, technical reviews, and project progress meetings.
  • Champion Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, ensuring compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, systems, tools, and EPC delivery practices.

What We're Looking For
