Job summary

Fulton Hogan Infrastructure Services is seeking experienced Civil Engineers to back civil projects in Queensland, including Ormeau or Meridian Plains. You will lead delivery, manage safety, and maintain strong client relationships within a culture that values reliability and collaboration.

You will hold a Civil Engineering degree with project experience; the role may involve local/regional travel and multi-package coordination to meet time and budget targets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with proven experience in civil/mining construction projects and pavement construction.
• Experience delivering minor to mid-size civil projects and strong cost-control capability.
• TMR experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate works to comply with health, safety, quality and environmental rules.
• Drive a safety-first culture across the department.
• Attend project meetings and report progress, manage costs and forecasting.
• Contract management across multiple work packages and variations.
• Read drawings and prepare subcontract packages; develop short-term programs.
• Support tender submissions with knowledge of plant capability and productivity.

What's on offer?

Fulton Hogan - Infrastructure Services, is seeking experienced Engineers to support the civils department teams either based in Ormeau or Meridian Plains, Queensland. Reporting to the Project Manager (PM) or Senior Project Engineer (SPE) this role will see you play a crucial part in developing and delivering various minor civil projects in the region on time, within budget and to a high standard of safety and quality. You will build on our strong key stakeholder relationships within both the government and private sectors, and you will be empowered to lead and develop a team of Project and Site Engineers to ensure successful project delivery within a safety-first culture.

This position may require some local and regional state travel as per individual project requirements. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Planning and coordinating works to ensure they are carried out in compliance to all health and safety, quality, and environmental legislation and company procedures and assist PM / SPE in the delivery of civil construction projects.
• Drive a safety-first approach across the department in line with Fulton Hogan's "Living Safely" Culture and WHS Legislation.
• Attend project meetings and report on project performance and manage cost control tracking, monitoring productivities and forecasting costs to complete for end of month reviews.
• Contract management across multiple packages of works with ability to identify variations/EOTs and prepare submission to clients.
• Read and interpret drawings and prepare subcontract packages and administer to fulfil site requirement.
• Utilise programming software to develop and maintain short term programs in consultation with field operations.
• Support tender submission with a sound working knowledge of plant capability and civil productivities.

How will you connect to the role?

You will possess a Degree in Civil Engineering with proven experience in civil/mining construction projects and pavement construction, with TMR experience as advantageous, although not essential.

Your ability to manage multiple packages of work at once and to identify and address issues before they arise will set you up for success. Your analytical ability in cost control, reviewing monthly project forecasts and interrogating forecasting costs to complete as required, will also be crucial to your delivery. Your capability in maintaining positive client relationships and ensuring contractual obligations are met will lead to positive outcomes for the department. A valid driver's licence is essential for this position.
