Job summary

Fulton Hogan - Infrastructure Services in Townsville is seeking two experienced Senior Project Engineers to lead the civils department teams. You will drive development and delivery of minor civil projects, manage relationships with government and private sector clients, and mentor a team of engineers to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery with a strong safety focus.

You will oversee planning, cost control, and subcontract management, while coordinating program schedules and tender support.

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering degree and RPEQ registration or in progress.
  • Valid driver’s license is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple packages of work and address issues early.
  • Experience in civil/mining construction and pavement construction.
  • Strong cost control and forecasting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate works ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality, environmental legislation and procedures.
  • Promote a safety-first culture across the department.
  • Monitor costs, productivity, and forecast costs for month-end reviews.
  • Manage contracts across multiple packages and prepare submissions for clients.
  • Prepare subcontract packages and manage site requirements.
  • Use programming software to develop short-term work programs with field operations.
  • Support tender submissions with knowledge of plant capability and civil productivity.

Role Details

Fulton Hogan - Infrastructure Services, is seeking two experienced Senior Project Engineers to lead the civils department teams based in Townsville, Queensland. Reporting to the Project Manager - Civil, this role will see you play a crucial part in developing and delivering various minor civil projects in the region on time, within budget and to a high standard of safety and quality. You will build on our strong key stakeholder relationships within both the government and private sectors, and you will be empowered to lead and develop a team of Project and Site Engineers to ensure successful project delivery within a safety-first culture. This position may require some local and regional state travel as per individual project requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and coordinating works to ensure they are carried out in compliance to all health and safety, quality, and environmental legislation and company procedures.
  • Drive a safety-first approach across the department in line with Fulton Hogan's "Living Safely" Culture and WHS Legislation.
  • Cost control tracking, monitoring productivities and forecasting costs to complete for end of month reviews.
  • Contract management across multiple packages of works with ability to identify variations/EOTs and prepare submission to clients.
  • Prepare subcontract packages and administer to fulfil site requirement.
  • Utilise programming software to develop and maintain short term programs in consultation with field operations.
  • Support tender submission with a sound working knowledge of plant capability and civil productivities.
Qualifications
  • You will possess a Degree in Civil Engineering with proven experience in civil/mining construction projects and pavement construction, as well as hold registration as a RPEQ or in the process of achieving RPEQ.
  • TMR experience and proficiency in Quality Assurance will be advantageous.
  • A valid driver's licence is essential for this position.
  • Your ability to manage multiple packages of work at once and to identify and address issues before they arise will set you up for success.
  • Your analytical ability in cost control, reviewing monthly project forecasts and interrogating forecasting costs to complete as required, will also be crucial to your delivery.
  • Your capability in maintaining positive client relationships and ensuring contractual obligations are met will lead to positive outcomes for the department.
