Job summary

Fulton Hogan Infrastructure Services is seeking experienced Civil Engineers to support the civils department, based in Queensland. Reporting to the Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer, you will lead and develop a team of Project and Site Engineers to deliver small civil projects on time, within budget, and with a strong safety focus.

This role may require local and regional travel. A Civil Engineering degree and cost-control acumen are essential, with a driver’s license required for site

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with proven experience in civil/mining construction projects and pavement construction; TMR experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate works ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental legislation and company procedures; assist PM/SPE in delivering civil construction projects.
• Drive a safety-first approach across the department in line with the Living Safely culture and WHS legislation.
• Attend project meetings, report on project performance, and manage cost control, forecasting, and cost to complete for monthly reviews.
• Conduct contract management across multiple packages, identify variations/EOTs, and prepare client submissions.
• Read and interpret drawings and prepare subcontract packages to meet site requirements.
• Utilise programming software to develop and maintain short-term programs in consultation with field operations.
• Support tender submissions with knowledge of plant capability and civil productivities.

What’s on offer?

Fulton Hogan - Infrastructure Services, is seeking experienced Engineersto support the civils department teams either based in Ormeau or Meridian Plains, Queensland.

Reporting to the Project Manager (PM) or Senior Project Engineer (SPE) this role will see you play a crucial part in developing and delivering various minor civil projects in the region on time, within budget and to a high standard of safety and quality. You will build on our strong key stakeholder relationships within both the government and private sectors, and you will be empowered to lead and develop a team of Project and Site Engineers to ensure successful project delivery within a safety-first culture.

This position may require some local and regional state travel as per individual project requirements.

Your key responsibilitieswill include:

• Planning and coordinating works to ensure they are carried out in compliance to all health and safety, quality, and environmental legislation and company procedures and assist PM / SPE in the delivery of civil construction projects.
• Drive a safety-first approach across the department in line with Fulton Hogan's "Living Safely" Culture and WHS Legislation.
• Attend project meetings and report on project performance and manage cost control tracking, monitoring productivities and forecasting costs to complete for end of month reviews.
• Contract management across multiple packages of works with ability to identify variations/EOTs and prepare submission to clients.
• Read and interpret drawings and prepare subcontract packages and administer to fulfil site requirement.
• Utilise programming software to develop and maintain short term programs in consultation with field operations.
• Support tender submission with a sound working knowledge of plant capability and civil productivities.

How will you connect to the role?

You will possess a Degree in Civil Engineering with proven experience in civil/mining construction projects and pavement construction, with TMR experience as advantageous, although not essential.

Your ability to manage multiple packages of work at once and to identify and address issues before they arise will set you up for success. Your analytical ability in cost control, reviewing monthly project forecasts and interrogating forecasting costs to complete as required, will also be crucial to your delivery. Your capability in maintaining positive client relationships and ensuring contractual obligations are met will lead to positive outcomes for the department.A valid driver's licence is essential for this position.
