Job summary

Transport For NSW is seeking a Project Engineer to support delivery across South Grafton, NSW. The role covers projects from planning through construction within the Regional Road Network Maintenance and Northern Bridges teams, emphasising safety, environmental management, and quality outcomes.

The position is a Limited Duration Full-Time role with a proposed end date of 11 July 2027, located in South Grafton.

Qualifications

• Experience or exposure to infrastructure or maintenance project delivery environments.
• Knowledge of bridge or structures construction or maintenance practices.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Hold a four-year civil engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualification.
• Current and valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Willingness to travel to attend work sites and work outside standard hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Join our Regional Road Network Maintenance team within our Road Maintenance and Resilience Division, supporting the delivery of infrastructure and maintenance projects that keep communities connected and people moving safely across NSW.
• Be part of our Northern Bridges team and support the planning and delivery of bridge and structural maintenance and construction projects across northern NSW.
• Take projects from delivery readiness through to construction, coordinating investigations, providing design guidance and reviews, procuring specialist contractors, and supporting our direct delivery crews.
• During delivery, oversee construction compliance, monitor costs and forecasts, and complete monthly project reporting.
• Collaborative Project Engineer with a commitment to safety, environmental management, quality and successful delivery outcomes.
