Job summary

Torra Staffing and Recruitment – Newcastle NSW is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to broaden experience across earthworks, bulk earthworks and road construction. You will join an established national contractor delivering NSW projects with strong guidance from an experienced technical team.

Based across different sites, you will coordinate programs, procurement and site resources, and help manage cost forecasting, variations and progress claims while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of three years' civil construction experience.
• Experience across earthworks, roadworks or civil infrastructure.
• Familiar with Jobpac or Expert Estimation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor three-week project programs.
• Coordinate plant, materials, subcontractors and site resources.
• Track productivity across critical work activities.
• Manage procurement documentation, purchase orders and subcontracts.
• Support cost forecasting, variations and progress claims.
• Attend site meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
• Manage RFIs, drawing registers, ITPs and quality documentation.
• Support site safety, risk management and high-risk work planning.

Are you a Civil Project Engineer looking to broaden your experience across earthworks, bulk earthworks and road construction?

We're partnering with an established national civil contractor that is continuing to grow its NSW operations. This opportunity offers exposure to a range of civil projects, working alongside experienced technical professionals who will provide guidance and support as you continue to develop.

The role will suit someone adaptable and comfortable moving between projects based on delivery requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing and monitoring three-week project programs
• Coordinating plant, materials, subcontractors and site resources
• Tracking productivity across critical work activities
• Managing procurement documentation, purchase orders and subcontracts
• Supporting cost forecasting, variations and progress claims
• Attending site meetings and maintaining strong client relationships
• Managing RFIs, drawing registers, ITPs and quality documentation
• Supporting site safety, risk management and high-risk work planning

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification
• At least three years' civil construction experience
• Experience across earthworks, bulk earthworks, roadworks or broader civil infrastructure
• Strong understanding of programming, procurement and project delivery
• Exposure to cost forecasting, variations and progress claims
• Confidence working with site teams, subcontractors and clients
• Strong safety and quality focus
• Flexibility to move between projects as required
• Experience with Jobpac or Expert Estimation would be beneficial but is not essential
