Job summary

Aurecon in Gladstone is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee mining and metals initiatives. Based in our Gladstone office, you will coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering activities and deliver programs that meet safety, environment, and client expectations.

You will lead planning, manage budgets, schedule resources, and maintain strong client relationships while mentoring local capability and teams to strengthen the Gladstone region.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with exposure to mechanical/piping and electrical projects in mining, oil and gas or broader industrial sectors.
• 10+ years' engineering experience at a senior project delivery level.
• RPEQ would be highly regarded.
• Strong project delivery and management skills, including coordinating multidisciplinary teams, schedules, budgets, deliverables and client expectations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with a hands-on regional client environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the delivery of multiple small-to-medium engineering projects and work packages across the Gladstone portfolio.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, piping, electrical and structural) to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
• Lead project planning activities, including proposals, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting and task coordination.
• Maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders, while providing regular project updates and reporting.
• Oversee engineering deliverables to ensure technical quality, safety, environmental compliance and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Identify and manage project risks, resolve technical and site-based issues and support the development of local capability and team leadership within the Gladstone region.
