Job summary

Downer is seeking a Project Engineer in Berrimah, NT, to support delivery of civil projects from planning through to completion. The role emphasizes concrete cost control, schedule adherence, quality, and a strong safety culture within a collaborative team environment.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree and at least 2 years in asphalt or road construction, with proven planning and communication skills, and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 2 years exposure in the bituminous or asphalt surfacing, civil road construction or road maintenance ideal.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction to crew members and effectively liaise with customers.
• Successful track record with planning, organising and time management.
• Commercial skills and understanding of financial administration and project costing advantageous.
• Proven experience in identifying opportunities; improvements and solutions.
• Demonstrated ability with building relationships with key stakeholders.
• Ability to be flexible with travel when required.

Responsibilities

Downer is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team based in Berrimah, NT. Ideally, this role would be suited to candidates with exposure across spray seal, asphalt or civil road construction environments. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated Engineer to learn all aspects of our operations and work within a driven and enthusiastic team.
