Job summary

All Energy Contracting is seeking a Project Engineer to join our on-site construction team for the Laceby Solar Farm project in Northeast Victoria, operating a 2:1 FIFO/DIDO roster. You will bridge engineering design and field execution, ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery across civil, electrical and mechanical works.

Ideal candidates hold a Engineering degree (Civil or Electrical), 7+ years in construction with 3+ years on renewables, strong QA/QC and HSE knowledge, and clear

• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or similar) with relevant experience.
• Minimum 7 years in construction.
• Minimum 3 years exposure in renewable projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, QA/QC and HSE.
• Excellent communication across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Australian Driver’s License.
• On-site work flexibility and adaptability.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Interpret project drawings and specifications and implement on-site.
• Provide engineering support to construction teams and subcontractors.
• Develop and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Coordinate document control including RFIs, permits, and drawings.
• Monitor progress and assist with planning, procurement, and scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures and requirements.
• Liaise with design consultants and third parties to resolve issues.
• Track materials and productivity; support cost monitoring and claims.
• Assist in site reporting, audits, inspections and continuous improvement.
• Support preparation of As-Built drawings and project close-out.

Position Overview

To help us deliver the Laceby Solar Farm project in Northeast Victoria, we are looking for a Project Engineer to join our onsite construction team, working a 2:1 FIFO/DIDO roster.

The Laceby Solar Farm integrates a 60 MW AC solar generation system with 240 MWh of battery energy storage, designed to deliver reliable, low-carbon power to the regional grid. Combining renewable generation and advanced storage to ensure firm, dispatchable clean energy, supporting grid stability and Australia’s energy transition.

The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical, planning, and construction support across the lifecycle of our projects. You will act as the critical link between engineering design and field implementation, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficient site execution.

Working closely with construction managers, supervisors, subcontractors and design teams, the Project Engineer will play a key role in the successful and safe delivery of works on‑site.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret project drawings and specifications, ensuring technical requirements are accurately implemented on‑site
• Provide engineering support to construction teams and subcontractors, resolving issues and coordinating sequencing of works
• Develop and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring construction quality and compliance with design and regulatory standards
• Coordinate and maintain accurate document control, including RFIs, permits, specifications, and drawing registers
• Monitor daily and weekly progress, assisting with planning, procurement, and scheduling of resources
• Ensure all site activities are compliant with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) procedures and requirements
• Liaise with design consultants and third parties to clarify technical queries and drive resolution of design issues
• Track materials and productivity against budgets and support the Project Manager in cost monitoring, progress claims, and variation support
• Contribute to site reporting, audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist in the preparation of As-Built drawings and support project close‑out activities

What you’ll bring to the team

• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or similar discipline) with a minimum of 7 years' experience in construction
• Minimum 3 years exposure in renewable projects
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, QA/QC systems, and HSE requirements
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across multiple teams and stakeholders
• Australian Driver’s License
• Flexibility to work on‑site and adapt to changing project demands
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal
