Job summary

McNab in Brisbane is seeking a Project Engineer to coordinate quality, safety, programming and design management on commercial, industrial and multi-res projects. You will work with Project and Site Managers to keep works moving and ensure buildability and compliance.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in Construction Management or related field, and experience with commercial builders. You will engage with subcontractors and consultants to drive outcomes and deliver high-quality builds

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or related field.
• Experience working for a commercial builder (head contractor preferred).
• Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day project delivery across safety, quality, program, and design.
• Drive buildability outcomes and resolve design and construction challenges early.
• Manage RFIs and site instructions, ensuring clear communication across all stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and reporting.
• Support program delivery and track progress against key milestones.
• Ensure works are delivered in line with project specifications and standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality assurance activities.
• Work closely with subcontractors, consultants, and the project team to keep works moving.

About the role

We’re looking for a driven and capable Project Engineer to join McNab in Brisbane.

With a strong pipeline of work across commercial, industrial, and multi-res projects, you’ll be part of a team delivering high-quality builds in a supportive and well-structured environment.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in coordinating quality, safety, programming, and design management activities to ensure the smooth delivery of projects. You’ll work closely with Project and Site Managers to drive buildability outcomes, maintain compliance, and keep projects progressing efficiently.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Coordinate day-to-day project delivery across safety, quality, program, and design
• Drive buildability outcomes and resolve design and construction challenges early
