Job summary

Hindmarsh is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee the delivery of multiple construction packages from start to finish. You will support the Project Manager to ensure on-time, on-budget, high-quality outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety and collaboration with subcontractors and suppliers.

With at least five years of building project experience and a relevant qualification, you will develop programmes, manage procurement, apply value engineering, and drive performance against time,

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractors and service suppliers to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain construction programmes and schedules for timely delivery.
• Implement the procurement strategy to source materials cost-effectively and to high quality.
• Practice value engineering to identify cost-saving measures without sacrificing quality.
• Ensure delivery aligns with time, cost, quality and HSE targets.

Job description

As Project Engineer, you will oversee the construction delivery of several packages, taking charge of the progress from start to finish. Supporting the Project Manager, you will ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, with high-quality standards, and most importantly, ensuring that everyone involved stays safe. Other responsibilities include:

• Manage subcontractors and service suppliers, ensuring that they are all operating efficiently to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain construction programmes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of the project.
• Implement the procurement strategy to ensure that all materials are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and of the highest quality.
• Practice value engineering to continuously identify and implement cost-saving measures without sacrificing quality.
• Ensure that delivery exceeds project parameters for time, cost, customer satisfaction, quality, and HSE at all times.

About you

You are a Project Engineer with at least 5 years of industry experience as well as well-rounded experience in similar roles on large building projects. You will also have:

• A relevant qualification in a field of study
• Experience in a similar role on large building construction projects
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills that will enable you to interact with team members, subcontractors, and suppliers, as well as other stakeholders.
