Job summary

Evoenergy is seeking a capable Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and construction of the ACT distribution network. Join the Network Delivery Group and help maintain a future-focused electricity network.

You will work with overhead lines, substations, and ground assets, collaborating with delivery teams and external partners. Evoenergy values safety, inclusivity and community-focused service.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Advanced Diploma/equivalent as minimum.
  • Strong knowledge of customer and network-initiated electricity distribution works.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and contractors.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment in electricity distribution.
  • Commitment to safety and an inclusive, respectful work culture.

Job description

As a part of the Network Delivery Group you will undertake a variety of works associated with the design and construction of Evoenergy’s Electrical Distribution Network. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of maintaining a future focused electricity network for the ACT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare detailed project briefs, estimates and associated documentation for assigned projects, ensuring that the customer’s requirements and Evoenergy’s business objectives are met.
  • Perform calculations and assessments for various design criteria for overhead line assets, including structures/poles, switchgear, transformers, etc. and ground assets, including distribution substations/kiosks, switching stations and related infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and advice to delivery teams as required.
  • Other duties within the employee's skill, competence and training.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) however an Advanced Diploma, or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering is acceptable as a minimum.
  • Demonstrated experience, strong knowledge and understanding in regard to customer and network-initiated electricity distribution works including overhead lines and ground assets and the related infrastructures.
  • Established understanding and proven experience in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including external contractors, consultants and in-house delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated experience, strong knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment relating to the electricity distribution industry.
  • You take active steps to ensure the safety of your colleagues and our community, championing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.
