Job summary

WSP in Australia is seeking a Project Engineer for our Adelaide Mining team. You will move from design toward project delivery, taking ownership of work packages and coordinating multidisciplinary teams on mining and infrastructure projects.

You’ll work with experienced Project Managers and stakeholders to manage scope, schedule and budgets, while developing your project management capabilities within a supportive, global engineering practice.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical, Civil or Structural engineer.
• Exposure to mining or heavy industry projects.
• Interest in transitioning to project delivery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of mining and infrastructure projects from concept to execution.
• Take ownership of work packages including scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams for high-quality outcomes.
• Monitor progress, risks, budgets and project performance with Project Managers.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical reviews, planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop project management capability while maintaining engineering foundation.

The Opportunity

WSP's Adelaide Mining team is growing, and we're looking for a Project Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career. If you've built a strong foundation in engineering design and are looking to broaden your experience into project delivery, package management and client-facing work, this role offers the perfect pathway.

You'll move beyond producing designs and gain exposure to the commercial, technical and delivery aspects of projects, working alongside experienced Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams on a diverse portfolio of mining and infrastructure projects.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support the successful delivery of mining and infrastructure projects from concept through to execution.
• Take ownership of work packages, managing scope, schedule, deliverables and stakeholder expectations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve high-quality project outcomes.
• Work closely with Project Managers to monitor progress, risks, budgets and project performance.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical reviews, project planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop your project management capability while maintaining your technical engineering foundation.

About You

• Experience as a Mechanical, Civil, Structural or similar engineering professional.
• Exposure to mining, minerals processing, heavy industry or infrastructure projects.
