Westgold Resources offers full-time, permanent roles at our Beta Hunt site in Kambalda, with flexible rosters including FIFO/DIDO and residential options. Join a growing company focused on development and safety in mining operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician) with valid A-Grade licence.
• WA Class C drivers licence and national police clearance.
• First Aid, CPR and LVR current.
• HV Switching certificate is desirable; HR licence and High Risk licences are also desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical project works in surface and underground mining environments.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to electrical teams, contractors and apprentices.
• Conduct HV switching, isolation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Lead and support electrical teams on site during breakdowns and unplanned work.
• Plan, assess risks and ensure WAH and other high-risk activities comply with WHS regs.
• Maintain knowledge of mining regulations, electrical standards and site requirements.
• Participate in project planning and scheduling with supervisors and stakeholders.
• Identify hazards and improvement opportunities; implement corrective actions.
• Complete documentation, inspections and reporting in a timely manner.
• Mentor and train apprentices and trainees.

THE ROLE

• Deliver electrical project works in surface and underground mining environments
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to electrical teams, contractors and apprentices
• Conduct and oversee HV switching, isolation,testingand commissioning activities
• Lead and support electrical teams, contractors, and apprentices on site, including during breakdowns and unplanned work, coordinating with supervisors, operations, and other trades to restore equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all work involving Work at Height (WAH) and other high-risk activities is planned, risk assessed and executed in compliance with WHS and mining regulations.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of mining regulations, electricalstandardsand site-specific requirements
• Participate in project planning, scheduling and coordination with supervisors,plannersand other stakeholders to meet project deadlines.
• Identifyhazards,defectsand improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions to minimise risk and downtime.
• Complete all documentation, inspections and reporting accurately andin a timely manner.
• Assist with ongoing training and mentoring of apprentices, trainees and other trades.

WHAT DO I NEED.

• Valid WA Class C drivers’ license
• National Police Clearance
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician) with current A-Grade Electrical Licence.
• First Aid Certificate – Current CPR and LVR Certificate
• HV Switching Certificate (desirable)
• HR Class drivers’ license (desirable)
• High Risk License (FL, WAH, DG) (desirable)
• Remote Control Technologies Training (desirable)
• Electrical Nominee – current or eligible (desirable)
