Job summary

Westgold Resources is seeking an experienced Underground Maintenance Mechanic for our Bluebird Underground Gold Mine near Meekatharra, WA. You will diagnose faults, inspect machinery, and perform repairs on fixed-plant assets to keep operations running smoothly.

This permanent full-time role offers a competitive base salary, site and wellbeing allowances, and a 8/6 roster. Join a growing company committed to safety, development, and sustainable mining practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ mechanical maintenance experience in an underground mining environment.
• Experience maintaining surface and underground pumping systems and fixed infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

THE ROLE

• Diagnose faults, inspect, and test machinery Underground and determine required repair actions.
• Perform routine inspections of fixed-plant machinery, ventilation, dewatering, vent doors, air supply systems including ancillary equipment and surface assets and carry out preventative measures.
• Fault-finding, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of mechanical components to process equipment such as vent doors, compressors, mono pumps etc.
• Actively drive and participate in maintenance planning activities.

WHAT DO I NEED

• Current “C” Class Western Australian driver’s licence
• Relevant Trade Certificate (Fixed Plant Mechanic)
• Minimum 2 years’ mechanical maintenance experience in an underground mining environment
• Experience maintaining surface and underground pumping systems, fixed ventilation fans, rotary vane compressors
• Experience maintaining surface and underground fixed infrastructure systems
• Mono Pump Maintenance and installation (WTX3, WT103, WT104)
• Primary ventilation systems experience (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills
• A can-do, team-oriented attitude
• Desire to maintain a proactive safe working environment
