Job summary

Housing Australia is seeking a Project Delivery Manager to monitor and assess delivery of projects across the More Homes portfolio. You will coordinate with Investment Managers, maintain milestone progress, and escalate delivery risks while supporting timely reporting.

The role is a 2-year fixed-term opportunity, with a hybrid work model and the chance to contribute to social housing outcomes across Australia.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, development or project management within housing or related sectors.
• Proven ability to monitor delivery, progress and reporting for residential or government-funded programs.
• Strong understanding of lifecycle milestones, risks and dependencies.
• Ability to build relationships with developers, builders and housing providers.
• Experience working with relationship managers or investment professionals in delivery roles.
• High attention to detail with data quality and reporting accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Project Delivery Monitoring and Reporting: maintain up-to-date delivery status across portfolio, review milestone reports, identify issues, contribute to monthly status reports, ensure data integrity.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Risk Management: engage with providers and stakeholders, monitor construction progress, escalate risks to seniors.
• Continuous Improvement: enhance reporting processes, contribute insights for better monitoring and portfolio reporting, standardize delivery monitoring approaches.

Description:

The Project Delivery Manager is a key member of the Program Delivery Unit (PDU), responsible for monitoring and assessing the delivery of projects across Housing Australia's More Homes portfolio.

Working closely with Investment Managers and external stakeholders, the role maintains an accurate view of project progress, reviews milestone reporting, identifies emerging delivery risks and supports timely escalation and reporting. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of housing projects that make a meaningful difference to communities across Australia.

Please note this is a 2 year fixed term employment opportunity.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

Project Delivery Monitoring and Reporting

• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date view of project delivery status across an allocated portfolio, including milestone progress, construction stages, key risks, issues and anticipated completion dates.
• Review and quality assure milestone reports submitted by funded parties, assessing accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
• Identify reporting inconsistencies, gaps and emerging issues, coordinating follow‑up actions where required.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly portfolio status reports through the provision of accurate data, insights and analysis.
• Maintain data integrity across internal systems and the Housing Australia portal and proactively identify data quality issues.

Stakeholder Engagement and Risk Management

• Build and maintain productive relationships with community housing providers, developers, builders and other funding recipients.
• Engage with stakeholders to obtain project delivery information, monitor construction progress and support timely reporting.
• Work closely with Investment Managers to ensure delivery monitoring activities complement existing funding relationships and information‑sharing processes.
• Undertake site visits and direct engagement with counterparties where appropriate to assess project progress and delivery risks.
• Identify and document delivery risks, project underperformance and threats to key milestones, preparing clear escalation advice for senior stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

• Support the ongoing enhancement of reporting processes, templates and escalation frameworks.
• Contribute practical insights that strengthen project monitoring, portfolio reporting and risk management practices.
• Assist in developing consistent approaches to delivery monitoring across the More Homes portfolio.

Skills and Experiences

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in construction, development, project management, quantity surveying or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience monitoring project delivery, construction progress, contract administration or performance reporting within residential development, social and affordable housing, infrastructure or government‑funded programs.
• Strong understanding of the construction and project delivery lifecycle, including key milestones, risks and dependencies.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with developers, builders, community housing providers and other external stakeholders.
• Experience working collaboratively alongside relationship managers, account managers or investment professionals in a complementary delivery or oversight role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess reporting information, identify risks and provide practical recommendations.
• Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise reports, briefings and escalation advice for senior audiences.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate project and portfolio data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and project or portfolio reporting systems.
• Tertiary qualifications in construction, development, project management or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, AIPM, AIQS or RICS are advantageous.
• Quantity surveying experience and/or a White Card would be well regarded.
