Strategic Spaces is seeking a highly organised Project Coordinator – Wayfinding & Signage to join our team in Brisbane. You will coordinate design projects, support client relationships, and ensure delivery from strategy through to documentation.

This permanent full-time role offers a salary of $80,000 – $100,000 plus super, commensurate with experience, with opportunities across Australia and regular travel to Melbourne to collaborate with the team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in wayfinding, signage or related design fields.

We are currently seeking a highly organised and motivated Project Coordinator – Wayfinding & Signage to join our team and support the delivery of a portfolio of exciting projects across Australia.

This role is focused on coordinating design projects, supporting client and stakeholder relationships, and ensuring projects progress smoothly from strategy and concept through to documentation and delivery.

You will work closely with our design team, clients, architects, consultants, suppliers and project stakeholders, helping to coordinate the many moving parts of a project while maintaining a strong focus on design quality and client outcomes.

The role would suit someone with experience in wayfinding, environmental graphic design, signage, architecture, interior design or a related field who enjoys the organisational and collaborative side of design projects, and is able to regularly travel to Melbourne to collaborate with the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Coordination: Coordinate multiple wayfinding and signage projects across different stages of design, from initial briefing and concept development through to documentation and delivery.
• Client & Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders, providing clear communication and a high level of customer service throughout each project.
• Design Coordination: Work closely with designers and design managers to coordinate project inputs, deliverables, approvals, meetings and deadlines.
• Project Planning: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinate priorities and ensure key milestones and deliverables are achieved.
• Client Meetings: Assist with the preparation, coordination and follow-up of client meetings, workshops and project presentations.
• Design Documentation: Coordinate the development and review of design documentation, presentations, schedules and project deliverables.
• Consultant Coordination: Liaise with architects, interior designers, builders, consultants and other project stakeholders to ensure wayfinding requirements are appropriately integrated into broader design and construction programs.
• Creative & Technical Coordination: Support the design team by coordinating creative, technical and project requirements and identifying issues that may affect design outcomes or project timelines.
• Design Implementation: Support the team through the delivery phase, providing creative and technical coordination where required to help ensure the intent of the approved wayfinding and signage design is understood and maintained.
• Project Administration: Assist with project budgets, fee proposals, procurement, project reporting, documentation and general studio administration.
• Business Development: Assist with the preparation and coordination of wayfinding proposals, bids and presentations.

Experience & Skills

To qualify for the role, you will ideally have:

• 3+ years' professional experience in wayfinding, environmental graphic design, signage, architecture, interior design, landscape design or a related field, having seen multiple projects through from briefing to completion
• Recent experience working within a design studio, consultancy, architectural practice or similar project-based environment.
• Knowledge or experience of wayfinding strategy, signage and branded environments.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with financial literacy.
• The ability to understand and navigate architectural drawings, plans and project documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Acrobat and Illustrator.
• Familiarity with CAD or other design/technical software is highly desirable.
• A degree or qualification in Design, Architecture, Project Management, Business or a related discipline.
